The Department of Art at Ashland University



The Ashland University Art Department seeks to provide education in the visual arts and to prepare students to function in a productive capacity within the larger culture, including the qualifications necessary for pursuit of graduate studies. The Department provides a comprehensive and contemporary approach to the field, and is committed to the maintenance of an environment that encourages seriousness of purpose in the creation, criticism, exhibition and understanding of art.

2008 Coburn Gallery Schedule:

- Faculty Exhibition:  January 17 - February 15

- Prognosis of Death Exhibition: February 21 - March 1

- Juried Student Exhibition:  March 6 - March 20

- Senior Show I:  April 3 - April 18

- Senior Show II:  April 24 - May 10

The Coburn Gallery is located outside Hugo Young Theatre in AU's Arts and Humanities Building, on the corner of College Avenue and Grant Street.  Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
