SubmissionsRiver Teeth invites submissions of creative nonfiction, including narrative reportage, essays, and memoirs, as well as critical essays that examine the emerging genre and that explore the impact of nonfiction narrative on the lives of its writers, subjects, and readers. River Teeth uses an online submission manager to read and track your submissions. In order to use the Submission Manager, you will need to set up an account. Your contact information will only be used to communicate news and events about River Teeth and respond to your submissions. Log in to the Submission Manager to submit your essay. Note: There were technical difficulties with the Submission Manager for submissions entered between November 19 and December 16. Submissions entered during this time have been lost. Please resubmit - we apologize for the inconvenience. Simultaneous Submissions: River Teeth will consider simultaneous submissions as long as writers follow the normal etiquette of such submissions by indicating so in a cover letter or the notes section of the submission, and notifying us immediately if the piece is picked up by another journal. Response Time: The editors of River Teeth try to respond to submissions within three to six months, though we always work hard to return submissions as quickly as possible while giving each submission a fair read. **Submissions will not be accepted June through August. ** If Accepted: If published, writer will receive two complimentary issues of the journal, one year subscription, and the option to purchase more of the journal the piece appeared in at a discounted rate. If you allow River Teeth to publish your piece, we will receive first North American serial rights. Submissions by Mail: River Teeth no longer accepts submissions by mail.
