Admission Policy
The student must be accepted by the Ashland University Admissions Department. For details concerning institutional requirements, refer to the Ashland University Catalog. Acceptance as a Music Major or Music Minor is determined by audition.
Musicianship
A basic musicianship evaluation will be given to all prospective Music Majors to determine their extent of musical background, and to determine course placement. The evaluation will include aural skills, music theory, and piano.
Performance
Every candidate, including non-major participants, is required to audition or submit a tape to be eligible for a Music Scholarship and for acceptance as a Music Major or Minor. Please mail a copy of your piano accompaniment two weeks before your audition.
