Jeffrey Neitzke
Percussion

Jeff Neitzke was born in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He received a Bachelors degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Illinois, where he studied with Tom Siwe and William Moersch. Jeff then went on to receive a Masters degree in Percussion from the Univeristy of Akron, where he studied with Dr. Larry Snider. After graduating from Akron, Jeff remained int he Akron area and worked as a freelance percussionist and steel drummer. Along with teaching percussion at Ashland, Jeff also teaches steel drum and percussion classes through the Canton Symphony. Jeff has performed with such symphonies as Sinfonia de Camera, The Champaign-Urbana Symphony, The Akron Symphony, and is currently timpanist for The Ashland Symphony. Jeff reguarly performs as a member of the 7 Mile Isle Steel Band, Hamilton Street Pan Groove, Gypsies in th ePalace, and Costley Court, a jazz-funk ensemble.
