3/13/2006 Students Save Companies Thousands through Ashland University MBA
ASHLAND, Ohio Companies do benefit when their employees pursue MBA degrees. And sometimes the benefit can be seen on the bottom line.

Sandusky resident John Yost saved his company approximately $700,000 through a project he completed for a course in Ashland University's master of business administration (MBA) program. Delaware resident Paula Paben saved her company time, man-hours and production space, while Ashland resident Roger Dougherty saved his company $10,000 in overtime through projects they completed for the same course.

Chart1/17/2006 AU Students Excel at Stock Selection and Portfolio Management
Ashland University's "Eagle Investment Group" finance students have been managing a quarter of a million dollar portion of the University's endowment since 1999. There performance has been consistently above average, and their results for 2005 extend that record.

According to Dr. Tom Harvey, professor of the students, the group outperformed all the key stock market indicators by a large margin.

The Eagle Investment Group is another outstanding example of the Dauch College of Business and Economics' philosophy of learning by doing as well as by studying. Investment management companies are also taking note. Among the companies that have recently recruited our Eagle Investment Group graduates are Edward D. Jones and Company, A.G. Edward, MBNA, Wells Fargo, Met Life, Putnam, KeyCorp, NatCity Investments, and AXA Advisors.

12/13/2005 University Business Students Present to Disney Executives

Students in the Dauch College of Business and Economics made a presentation to executives of the Walt Disney Corporation. Members of Dr. Sharon Valente's Intermediate Financial Management course (Business 329) spoke via videoconference equipment from Dauch 105 to Disney officials Jim Hunt, chief financial officer and executive vice president of World Wide Parks, and Andy Wu, vice president for Business Planning.

This hands-on experience for the students was made possible through Stanley Gold, president and chief executive officer of Shamrock Holdings, and the speaker for the University's 2005 Lucille G. Ford Distinguished Business Lecture Series.

The lecture series was developed by Ashland alumnus Dr. Peter D. Linneman, who is the Albert Sussman Professor of Real Estate and Professor of Finance and Business and Public Policy at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. He graduated from Ashland College in 1973 and received his MA from the University of Chicago in 1976 and his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1977.
