The College of Arts and Sciences is the core of Ashland University. The College provides general education to undergraduate students to assure them an opportunity to acquire a foundation of knowledge, skills, and values with which to develop an understanding of their world, a sense of purpose and a zeal for learning. The College also provides appropriate opportunities for students majoring in the disciplines within the College to acquire specific knowledge, skills, and values with which to pursue further study or work in their field.

The Richard E. and Sandra J. Dauch College of Business and Economics
The Richard E. and Sandra J. Dauch College of Business and Economics, which features the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, develops, challenges and supports its students in a competency-based collaborative environment. This environment is designed to aid business students in developing their skills and abilities as managers and their characters as leaders and in exercising responsibilities as global citizens.

Dwight Schar College of Education
Ashland University’s College of Education, one of the largest among independent and state institutions in Ohio, offers licensure programs for Early Childhood (grades PreK-3), Middle School (grades 4-9), Adolescent/Young Adult (grades 7-12 in Mathematics, Integrated Language Arts, Social Studies, and the Sciences), Multi-age (PreK-grade 12 in Art, Theatre, Music, Foreign Language, and Physical Education) and Intervention Specialist (Early Childhood, Mild/Moderate, and Moderate/Intensive) at the undergraduate and post-Baccalaureate (B+) levels. Programs at the Master of Education level include Educational Administration, Classroom Instruction, Gifted/Talent Education, Sport Education, Technology, Literacy, Middle Grades, Early Childhood as well as others of a more specialized nature. The College also has an Education Doctorate in Leadership. The College of Education is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education and the programs are approved by the Ohio Department of Education.
