Founded in 1970, American Secondary Education is a refereed journal emphasizing secondary education theory and practice. It is published three times each year by The Dwight Schar College of Education, Ashland University. ASE is a distinctive journal because it specifically serves those involved in public and private secondary education: administrators, teachers, and others. It is one of the few scholarly journals that examines current issues in secondary education. The journal features articles by practitioners and researchers, addressing current theories, research, and practice. This mix of practical and scholarly articles has made ASE a widely read and quoted source in secondary education.
