Services
Tutoring for struggling readers and writers is provided during each of
the three semesters.Ashland University is in session: Fall, Spring,
and Summer. Tutors are generally completing the courses required for
a reading Specialist Endorsement or have already met those requirements.
Tutoring is done as a part of a small group (1-4 children). Tutoring
sessions last approximately one hour. In the Fall and Spring, tutoring
occurs twice a week for approximately nine weeks. Summer tutoring
is held four days a week.
Other services to parents include providing information about how parents can help their children grow in reading, and maintaining a web site with useful links for parents and an e-mail link for answering questions about reading and writing.
Services to schools include advising the planning of intervention
programs, providing
information through our web site, and providing information and support
for volunteer tutors.
