Ashland University Center in Warrensville Heights is convenient for
students in the greater Cleveland area and offers modern facilities
and the amenities required for graduate studies. In addition
to comfortable classrooms, the location provides technological access.
Students may access the library and research services located at the
Library at the Ashland University main campus.
Ashland University offers courses leading to a master's degree (M.Ed.) or licensure at the Graduate Center in Warrensville Heights. Graduate classes are presented in a challenging and supportive environment, which is characteristic of Ashland University. Students working toward licensure and/or an M.Ed. will be able to complete all the requirements at the Cleveland Center. Courses leading to an M.Ed. and/or licensure will be offered and may taken during the fall and spring semesters in the evening . Daytime and evening classes are available throughout the summer. All centers provide faculty who have successful school-based experience and program featuring field-based experience.
Curriculum and Instruction: Classroom Instruction
This degree is for teachers in elementary and secondary schools who desire special work in the content areas of new technologies and understandings by which to improve teaching performance and increase pupil productivity.

Courses leading to an M.Ed. and/or licensure in School Administration are offered for elementary, middle grades and secondary levels. Courses for building principals, central office administrators, treasurers and superintendents are available.
Three year satisfactory teaching experience is required, of which at least two shall be at the level of certification being sought. The M.Ed. requires 36 semester hours and the M.Ed. plus licensure requires 45 hours. The electives and internship will determine the area of licensure.

Administrative Specialist Licensure
THe Administrative Specialist sequence has been developed to prepare candidates to gain the knowledge and skills to qualify as a central office administrator or supervisor in the areas below:
- Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development
- Pupil Services Administration
This replaces the Supervisor's and Assistant Superintendent's certification program. Course work has been drawn from the areas of education administration, curriculum, instruction and professional development. Students will complete an internship in one of the areas above.

To be eligible to receive the superintendent certification/licensure the applicant must have worked for three years as a school administrator under a principal or administrative specialist certificate/license.
