September 2007
Dear Faculty Member:
This is the tenth year that the University has made Merit Grants
available to faculty. The AU Merit Grant is designed to recognize
and reward faculty members whose initiatives in teaching, and/or
service are demonstrably outstanding. All full–time faculty
who have completed the third-year review process and Professional
Instructors who have completed at least three years of full-time
teaching at Ashland University are eligible and may apply for a
grant.
Please review the following:

A completed application form should be submitted to your Department
Chairperson no later than November 15th. Please read the following
procedures and requirements carefully, as a simple omission might
cause the application to be rejected by the review committee. The
decision of the Merit Grant Committee will be made prior to February
15th.
Funds for the academic year will be distributed prior to June 30th.
Any grant funds not supported by receipts in the Business Office
as of December 31st must be reported as taxable income to the grant
recipient.
If you have any questions, please contact me directly at extension

Sincerely,
Greg Gerrick
Dean of the Graduate School
