DIRECTOR OF FOUNDATION
OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
Grade 14
North Central State College is accepting resumes for Director of Foundation. The Director of Foundation works closely with the Foundation Board of Trustees and the College President to implement the mission of the Foundation. The Director is responsible for managing the overall operation of the Foundation, developing and implementing Foundation growth and fund raising activities, and developing and maintaining effective working relationships within the community. The Director ensures that all programs are consistent with and support the mission, values, and strategic objectives of the Foundation and the College.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
PLANNING AND ADMINISTRATION:
- Assist the Foundation Board of Trustees in developing a strategic three to five year business plan.
- Facilitate and implement an annual business plan of action to address new and recurring issues and decisions.
- Interact with Board of Trustee sub-committees (Resource Development, Internal Relations, Community Relations, Activities) to facilitate achievement of annual goals.
- Manage and supervise staff to achieve annual and long-term goals.
- Establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with College administration and the President’s office.
FUNDRAISING:
- Plan, design, and lead fundraising campaigns for the Foundation and the College.
- Develop donor relations and maintain contact with donors.
- Market and promote NC State's financial needs to internal and external communities.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:
- Monitor all accounting and financial records for the Foundation.
- Monitor investments to ensure that all funds are fully invested.
- Establish income goals as part of the overall business plan.
- Ensure that all fiscal matters of the Foundation are handled according to Foundation policies, rules, and regulations and the appropriate state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:
- Participate in community activities to meet other business and education leaders to establish a network of contacts.
- Recommend nominations for future Trustee Board positions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications or related area.
- Capital campaign experience.
- Background in fundraising, development, and/or planned giving.
- Demonstrated proficiency in recruiting campaign volunteers and keeping campaign efforts on time and on track.
- Management experience including the ability to motivate, lead, set objectives, and foster an environment of creativity and professional growth.
- Familiarity with development software and Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of donors.
- An appreciation of the philosophy and mission of community/technical colleges.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in Business, Communications or related area.
- Working knowledge of Paradigm software.
- Previous capital campaign management experience.
- Ability to articulate development vision to all internal and external constituencies.
- Experience in a higher education setting.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor's degree required. Two years experience in human resources, organizational development training, performance management, or employee/organizational development required. Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience. Candidate must possess ability to analyze, interpret, and implement University policies and procedures. Excellent communication (oral, written and interpersonal) skills, presentation and facilitation, planning, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, project management, and customer skills necessary. Ability to influence and build relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels utilizing The Basic Principles and teamwork in daily work activities required. Personal computer and related software skills necessary. Ability to facilitate sessions with focus groups necessary. Must be able to conceptualize, develop, implement and support a new and novel internship program for minorities and women in under-utilized job categories. Professional Human Resources Certification (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources Certification must be obtainable within first year.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Supervision/Organizational Development, Education, Instructional Design or related field preferred.
JOB DUTIES
Responsible for the design, development and management of a new internship program. Design program strategies. Develop, administer and implement programs that improve the climate for diversity for interns/employees in the Executive Vice President and Treasurer areas. Assess, design, develop, implement and evaluate University human capital training development programs dealing with a variety of topics such as diversity, supervision, leadership and development.

FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)
Retirement Eligibility: TIAA/CREF Contribution Waiting Period.
